For the past couple of months we have been along to The Angel’s Cut bar to hear Norse storytelling. The fabulous Half-Man, Half-Myth (also known as P. D. Brown) is telling tales of the Norse Gods and legends from the Sagas and the Poetic Edda. P. D. is originally from York and has recently moved back to the area from northern Scotland. He is an engaging and passionate storyteller and his memory and knowledge is amazing. Grab yourself a glass of mead, pull up a chair and lose yourself in ancient tales and myths! We really want to support this and get more people along to these evenings if we can, so please do come along and spread the word.
Here is P. D. last year talking about his storytelling:
He also has published a number of books which he has on sale at his storytelling evenings. Some of them, The Hidden Door, The Rune Poems: A Reawakened Tradition and Thirteen Moons: Reflections on the Heathen Lunar Year are available via Amazon if you fancy finding out a bit more before you go to see him in person, but we always think it’s best (if you have any room left for more physical books!) to buy them from the author in person.
Norse storytelling every third week of the month (days vary), 7.30 P.M. at Angel’s Cut, 39 Duke Street, Darlington, DL3 7RX. £5 on the door. Check Half-Man, Half-Myth or Angel’s Cut Facebook pages for details of upcoming dates. Some of the stories contain adult content and are not suitable for children.
